Motion Industries purchase of Canadian distributor

Motion Industries said it has finalized a deal to purchase the North American assets of a Canadian bearing and power transmission distributor. Terms of the acquisition of BC Bearing Engineering Ltd. and US Bearings & Things were not disclosed in a news release, but Motion's parent company, Genuine Parts Co., said the transaction would generate annual revenues of about $150 million by expanding its footprint further into Canada and the northwestern United States. Motion said the newly acquired company brings with it a broad customer base including forestry, pulp and paper, mining, agriculture, oil and gas, petrochemicals, food processing, transportation, electronics and wind energy customers. BC Bearing Engineers Ltd. and US Bearings & Things are family owned bearing and power transmission distributors based in Vancouver with 47 locations throughout western Canada and the northwestern U.S. Motion is based in Birmingham and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Co. (NYSE: GPC). It distributes industrial replacement parts throughout the United States and Canada. |
